Egg Tuck
Imported from LA, this counter-service breakfast spot on Michigan Avenue serves messy egg sandwiches that are high maintenance and low reward. Egg Tuck seems designed with social media posts in mind, including white walls and yolk-orange chairs that make you feel like you’re inside an egg art installation, and a large Chicago mural begging for selfies. Yet once you lift one of their bulky sandwiches from their carton, frustration begins.
Egg Tuck doesn't hold back on the amount of scrambled eggs, but they're watery and drip all over your fingers and on the floor. And the housemade brioche bun doesn’t help—it becomes soggy from the mushy eggs, sriracha aioli, and mayo. If you’re on the Mag Mile and need a slightly better breakfast than from a fast food chain, go for the egg tots, or their hearty Burger-Wich, which has short rib and an over-medium egg. Otherwise, you can skip unless your TikTok is all about stained clothes.
