London’s booziest diagonal line is the one that runs west, from Noble Rot’s original location in Bloomsbury, via Soho, to their third buzzing spot in Mayfair. This maroon-toned, mahogany den in Shepherd’s Market feels like it could’ve been part of the bar and restaurant’s portfolio since day one. And the way in which the bungalow-ish dining room leans in humming, sipping, and forking seems to suggest the same. Standards feel high as usual—though starters like Sicilian prawns may get you going more than modern European mains like the späetzle. And with two bar areas (upstairs and down), this space feels tailor-made for lunch or dinner, business or leisure.
